Tyler Sims founded the S.I.M.S. Foundation of Alabama with a simple but powerful belief: every young person deserves someone who believes in them. Throughout his career in education, youth development, behavioral support, and community service, Tyler has worked directly with children, families, and underserved communities across Alabama. Those experiences allowed him to witness firsthand the challenges many young people face—and the life-changing impact that mentorship, encouragement, and opportunity can have on their future. That passion ultimately led him to establish the S.I.M.S. Foundation of Alabama, an organization dedicated to empowering young people through Service, Inspiration, Mentorship, and Support. Tyler earned a Bachelor of Science in Family & Consumer Sciences from Jacksonville State University, graduating Cum Laude. During his time at JSU, he was recognized as the Most Outstanding Student in Human Sciences, becoming the first African American male to receive the honor. He continues to serve his alma mater through the Human Sciences Advisory Board while remaining actively involved in organizations dedicated to strengthening children, families, and communities. As Founder and Executive Director, Tyler leads the Foundation's vision by building partnerships with schools, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and community leaders to expand opportunities for children and families across Alabama. His mission is to create lasting change by investing in the next generation through leadership development, educational initiatives, mentoring, and meaningful community engagement. For Tyler, the Foundation is more than an organization—it's a lifelong commitment to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to grow, lead, and succeed. He believes that when communities come together to invest in young people, every act of service inspires more support.
